How we collect, simulate and publish
A forecasting system is only worth something if its data is clean and its numbers can be checked. These are the rules every part of TrendBrain and every side project runs under.
Source compliance
What goes in decides what comes out.
- Approved sources only. A source register with risk levels; a collector only starts once a person has approved the source.
- No proxies, no logins, no getting around CAPTCHAs. The compliance gate stops any collector that would need them.
- No look-ahead. Features only use data that was known at forecast time.
- Recomputable. Parquet snapshots keep every data state, so each forecast can be recomputed later.
Simulation ethics
Virtual players and audiences, never virtual copies of real people.
- Aggregated data only. Populations are estimated from aggregated, approved data.
- No real or identifiable people simulated. No persona is modelled on a person, creator or player.
- No probabilities from language models. Language-model personas give qualitative findings; numbers come from the calibrated statistical layer.
- Earned influence. A simulation model only influences decisions once it beats simple baselines on later data, and it never replaces real playtests.
AI labels and human release
For everything the side projects publish.
- Labelled as AI. Videos, voices and thumbnails carry an AI label, in line with the transparency duties of the EU AI Act (Article 50). On YouTube we also use the platform's disclosure for altered or synthetic content.
- A person releases. Uploads stay private until a person releases them; agents prepare, people decide.
- Gates before release. The documentary pipeline runs 12 checks; a failed critical gate sends the video back.
- Our promotion is marked. So TrendBrain never mistakes it for a trend it predicted.
Copyright and protection of minors
- Rights dossier. A missing rights dossier stops a video.
- Asset check. Roblox assets are checked for brands, adult content and provenance.
- Minors. Ad labels and youth-protection rules apply to everything younger players can see; personality rights are checked before release.
